Common Threads was begun at St. Paul's in September, 2004 by a small group of women who wanted to put their knitting and crocheting talents to work for the parish. The group was created after the model of the founders of the national prayer shawl knitting ministry, Janet Bristow and Victoria Galo of Connecticut. It is a spiritual practice to do this work and we are encouraged to pray for those who will receive our shawls as we knit. We select yarn color, and often the pattern, for a specific individual whose name has been given to us by the rector, or suggested by another ministry. The shawl is then prayerfully knit by a member of the group for this individual. Upon completion, the shawl is then brought to the group, where the members pray for the blessing of the shawl and the recipient. The maker of the shawl, and often another group member as well, then visit the recipient to present the gift on behalf of St. Paul's parish. This is quite a personal ministry for all concerned. It is such a blessing to the members of the group and, we think, from the cards that we receive, also a blessing to those that receive the work of our hands and hearts. ST PAUL'S MEMORIAL DAY WEEKEND PIG ROAST (5/22-23)

In the South, where there's smoke there's usually a barbecue, and that's exactly what's happening at St. Paul's on Memorial Day weekend. Our parish's Men's Club will host a fundraiser by holding a good old-fashioned pig roast on our campus. All of the income from the sale of the barbecue will be used to begin work on our parish hall and kitchen. There'll be more information coming out this month, but you can put your name on the list to reserve some of the most succulent barbecue in Georgia. The sign-up sheet is located in the hallway across from the parish hall. Can't you just smell the goodness?

All of the entertainment is now in place with the addition of the Mulligan Irish Dancers and Mark Robinson, magician and juggler. We already had a falconer, a horse show and pony rides (jousting) for the young ones, theatre Improv troop, Renaissance dancers (to be organized this summer), madrigal singers (from our choir and any others interested in joining), and a few surprises just to keep it interesting.Our King and Queen,Nancy and T. P. Hallare already getting into the mood, so if you would keep that in mind when you greetthem it would be appreciated.The food committee will get together shortly to determine what recipes we make.Please keep freezer space in mind as we will need lots of space in August and September. The Barbecue committeeneeds to determine their favorite sauce.We are still looking for vendors so if you have someone to suggest please let me know.If you have not yet volunteered for an area of service, please put your name on the list. Were going to need everyone in order to have a successful day.

Wanted: More Petal Pushers

Each week, a Petal Pusher volunteers to create small floral vases to deliver to St. Paul's parishioners who are suffering from the loss of a loved one, recovering from an illness or surgery, or rejoicing in the birth of a child. We use the flowers from our large, Sunday arrangements to create several, smaller reminders of St. Paul's care and concern for all our parishioners.

For those of you new to St. Paul's and for those who may need a reminder, the Monthy Mission Market - MMM - was started about ten years ago as an Outreach ministry. We target different charities and organizations within our community that are in need of various supplies. Some of the groups that ST. Paul's has been able to help over the years are: Angel's House, Welcome House, Good Samaritan Home, Soldiers' Angels, CORRAL, Newnan Boys and Girls Club, Father Bruno and his work at Terrier Rouge in Haiti; DFACS Foster Children's Christmas, Second Chance Animal Shelter, Coweta Animal Shelter, Christian City Hospice, Christian City Hope House, Honduras mission, Katrina Hurricane Relief, Stepping Stones (new mothers), Ferst Foundation, CLICK, One Roof, Bel Air Shelter, Coweta Food Pantry, and many more! The MMM shows our community that St. Paul's congregation cares and is willing to share our blessings with others. There is a note each month in the Beacon and each Sunday in the Bulletin explaining the Mission for the Month and the items that are needed.& Please be sure and check this out. Bring your items and place in the wicker trunk under the OUTREACH bulletin board in the Parish Hall. We ask that if clothes, linens, etc. are requested, please be sure they are new or gently used and clean. We are always looking for new members to help with this ministry. Many of you may not know that the Coweta Food Pantry was started right here at St. Paul's many years ago It grew so large that it had to be relocated to a larger space in downtown Newnan. After many years in this location, the Food Pantry has now moved to a brighter and larger space on Temple Avenue (about 2 miles from St. Paul's). Each month church volunteers help to distribute food to those in need. St. Paul's month's to volunteer are April, August and December. Because of the increase in need, the hours have been extended from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm, Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Volunteers are needed to sign up for a part or a whole shift. Please see the sign-up sheet on the Here I Am, Lord bulletin board. This is a wonderful way for those with a few spare hours to help feed God's people of Coweta County. Please pray about your involvement in the Food Pantry.

Today is the First Sunday in Lent and things are different, different by design. There are no flowers. Hangings and vestments are not the churchs festive, happy colors (white or gold). Instead the color is sad and drab: sack cloth purple-violet. The hymns follow suit. They are solemn and thoughtful. All of this is intended to impress upon all of us the solemn, thoughtful nature of this forty-day season we know as Lent.

Hellfire and brimstone. Thats the way we describe a particular kind of preaching. What we usually mean by that is a style of preaching that is both bold and relentless in telling the people who are listening just how bad they are and how angry God is. That kind of preaching is by no means a thing of the past! Churches today which are full and overflowing with worshipers are churches where that manner of preaching is valued and expected! Go figure!

We went through the hamster thing with our youngest son, Joel. We had a large habitrail in which Joels hamster, Madeline lived. Madelines habitrail could not be left in his bedroom at night because she chose to use her circular treadmill at night and it squeaked and kept Joel awake. Madeline would run furiously on her treadmill all through the night. She was a hamster driven.for physical fitness.

I dont know how we happened to have them, but I loved them, these large booklets about the British monarchy. The booklets were mostly wonderful, full-color photographs of the queen and her coronation. There were many more photographs of the crown, the gilded carriage in which the queen rode and many other royal trappings including the crown jewels.

The opportunity to be a part of the Faith Build, a Habitat Home being built by a local group of congregations will begin soon. On September 29, a home is scheduled to be started and will be completed by mid December. During the way, the labor needs will range from rough carpentry, roof truss installation, finish carpentry, and painting. Along the way, volunteers consume a lot of food! There are a number of jobs to be done. We are always looking for potential new home owners. A native of South Carolina, Lewis was born November 10, 1984, to Chris and Tracy King. In 1993, Lewis' family moved to the Low Country from the Blue Ridge Mountain area of South Carolina. Lewis graduated the top of his high school class. He then went on to pursue and recieve a Bachelor of Arts in Sacred Music from Presbyterian College in Clinton, SC. Lewis is presently a graduate student at Mercer Univeristy's Townsend School of Music where he is pursuing a Master's of Music in Organ Performance. He has one sister, Rebecca, who is a rising sophomore at Erskine College in Due West, SC. His father is a licensed United Methodist minister and an emplyee of SC Forestry Commission. His mother works for the Palmetto Electric Co-op. He enjoys reading, classical music, and a good game of chess.

Caroline Westerhoff was our guest for the spring rector's forum on April 27. Caroline is the retired Canon for Ministry in the Episcopal Diocese of Atlanta and a former senior consultant with the Alban Institute. She has been a licensed preacher for over 20 years and is nationally known as a conference leader and speaker. Her work over the past years has been particularly concerned with the nature of ministry and the authority conferred on all Christian people in baptism. She holds degrees from Agnes Scott College and Emory University and is married to the Rev. Dr. John Westerhoff, who was our guest for the fall rectors forum in October.

In addition to a celebration of things brought low being raised up, it was also a day in which many among us 'raised up' the presence of Christiana Ezenwugo, who celebrated her birthday and to whom many of us offered our best wishes as she returns to her native Nigeria. After several years living with her daughter Chi and the Ezekwueche family, she is making the return trip to the land of her birth early next month; please join us in wishing Christiana all the best in her travels and a safe return to Chi as she accompanies her mother to her homeland.

On March 9, the Christian Education Committee presented the film The Greatest Story Ever Told. Due to the length of the movie (3 1/2 hours) and the fact that the movie is divided into two parts, it was decided to present the movie in two parts. Part I covered Jesus' birth and ministry up to Palm Sunday. The second part follows the events from palm Sunday through the Resurrection. The showing of the second part will be scheduled some time after Easter. As usual, all are welcome even if you weren't able to attend the first part. More information to follow.

Not too long ago, media personality Rosie O'Donnell showed concern for the sanctity of the separation between church and state; speaking from her cathedra on the set of the daytime gossip and opinion show, The View, Ms O'Donnell expressed the opinion that perhaps the Supreme Court was wrong to uphold a congressional ban on partial-birth abortions because the decision was unfairly influenced by the gender and Roman Catholic faith of five of the justices: If men could get pregnant, Ms O'Donnell said, abortion would be a sacrament.

Recently in our lectionary, the three year rotation of scriptural readings we use in the Episcopal Church, we revisited the story of the Prodigal Son. For those of you who dont know, its the story of a young man who claims his inheritance even before his father has died, and then leaves home to lose it all through riotous living. When this son finally comes to his senses and returns home, he receives a royal welcome from his father, who is overjoyed that his son has come home. But his brother is a different story; he is resentful that his wayward and wasteful brother is being honored, and refuses to welcome him. Jesus used this story as a means to remind the self-righteous of his faith that God still loves the sinner, even though he hates the sin.

Holy Trinity has been invited by the rabbi, cantor, and congregation of Temple Kehillat Chaim, a Reform Jewish congregation in Roswell (1145 Green Street), to join with them in an interfaith Shabbat service on Friday, Jan. 11, 2008, at 7:30 pm. (Shabbat, the Hebrew word for sabbath, is the Jewish day of rest, observed from Friday at sundown through Saturday at sundown.) Fr. Deneke will address the congregation on the tenets of our Episcopal faith, and both adult choirs will combine to sing several anthems and lead the singing during the evening liturgy.

On Saturday, Nov. 17, Tisdale Hall was full of one of-a-kind fair trade gift items made by artisans and farmers from developing countries all over the world. People came from all over Decatur and metro Atlanta to browse and shop. The sale continued on Sunday for parishioners and friends of Holy Trinity. Women from TGIF (Thank God Im Fiftyish), the adult Christian formation committee and the youth committee sold more than $20,000 worth of Christmas ornaments, wood and ceramic crches, baskets, coffee, jewelry, Peruvian textile art, and many other beautifully hand-crafted items. The Rev. Allen Pruitt and the Rev. Jessica Hitchcock will be joined in marriage Oct. 19 at the Cathedral of St. Philip. Both are Georgia natives who grew up in the Diocese of Atlanta, and at different times went through the diocesan DYVE vocational discernment program. But they didn't meet until they were students at Virginia Theological Seminary in Alexandria, Va.

This year, our parish has the opportunity to participate in Nightwalk at Callaway Gardens, sponsored by the March of Dimes. For those who have enjoyed driving through their famous display of Christmas lights in past years, it is a chance to walk the path on foot and at your own pace. There will be plenty of rest stops; hot chocolate will be served at the completion of the route. Ticket prices are $16 for adults and $12 for children 6- 12; all proceeds benefit the March of Dimes. A reflection on St. Francis of Assisi

This meditation on the saints of the church is a monthly gift from members of the Diocese of Atlanta Commission on Spiritual Growth.

This month we Christians and yes, some non-Christians, honor the memory and ministry of one of the church's most beloved saints - Francis, who lived from 1182 to 1226. When I was a little girl I thought he was from France. No, to the core, passionate and expressive, he was born and reared as an Italian in the rugged mountaintop town of Assisi.

Francis traveled through Italy and Egypt, converting, consoling and teaching and preaching peace. His calling took him far from the comfortable world of privilege to which he was born. His prayer and meditative disciplines are legendary, and today we can visit and pray too in the beautiful forest where Francis walked, rested, slept and prayed. The forest is immense and deep, where one can stroll while breathing the same air, listen to the same sounds and find the same peace and solitude that Francis sought through periods in his life.

St. Paul's hosts Haitian Art Fair for global outreach

Just a few years ago St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Atlanta, Ga., was grappling with in-reach more than outreach, working to fill pews more than making global mission news.

But God has blessed St. Paul's, and its global outreach program is growing rapidly as the church prepares to host the second annual Haitian Art Fair, a ministry that supports the vision of the Diocese of Atlanta's Global Mission Committee.

The art fair is Friday, Oct. 26, through, Sunday, Oct. 28 at the church. Proceeds will go towards the facilities educational needs of St. Marc School in Bois Blanc, Haiti.

It was a pleasure to have Bishop Alexander in our parish on Sunday, September 30. I thank all who helped to make this a special occasion for him and for us.

Nan Williams and the hospitality committee hosted a lovely brunch between the services and a generous reception following the 11:00 service. At 11:00, the acolytes served with precision and grace; the youth and adult choirs sang an anthem together; those who confirmed or renewed baptismal vows were touched by the liturgy; the congregation sang with life and spirit. Thanks to Hilary Ellwood and Richard Ackermann who hosted lunch for th ebishop and vestry Sunday afternoon.

We had many who came to support their family and friends being confirmed and it was a fine introduction to the Episcopal Church for them.

Our concern includes constant reference to men, women and children in derogatory terms that seem to dismiss their, and our own, humanity and to justify any proposed mistreatment or punishment.

Defaming, diminishing and dismissing newcomers as less than human strikes us as neither very faith-filled nor very American. Our concern is with family, civic and faith values.

Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ!

Having just returned from a week in New Orleans for the fall meeting of the House of Bishops, I would like to offer a few brief reflections. You will find links to the post-meeting comuniqué and to another statement from the House of Bishops that responds to the Primates of the Anglican Communion. I urge you to read both of them.

At our meeting we were blessed to have with us the Archbishop of Canterbury and the General Secretary of the Anglican Communion, together with members of the Joint Standing Committee of the Anglican Consultative Council and the Primates of the Anglican Communion. The Joint Standing Commitee is composed of laypersons, priests, bishops and primates from around the world. They came both to listen and to speak. The mutuality that implies was honored by all. The speaking and listening was not always easy, but it was a gift to be able to communicate directly with one another and not through the media, the Internet, or by way of intermediaries. The Archbishop was quite clear that there is no ultimatum on the table. The members of the Joint Standing Committee seemed hopeful that there is a way forward for the whole of the Anglican Communion joined together in mission and ministry in the name of Jesus for the sake of the world.

Why Go To Church?

A church goer wrote a letter to the editor of a newspaper and complained that it made no sense to go to church every Sunday.

"I've gone for 30 years now," he wrote, "and in that time I have heard something like 3,000 sermons. But for the life of me, I can't remember a single one of them. So, I think I'm wasting my time and the pastors are wasting theirs by giving sermons at all."

This started a real controversy in the "Letters to the Editor" column, much to the delight of the editor. It went on for weeks until someone wrote this clincher:

"I've been married for 30 years now. In that time my wife has cooked some 32,000 meals. But, for the life of me, I cannot recall the entire menu for a single one of those meals. But I do know this..They all nourished me and gave me strength I needed to do my work. If my wife had not given me these meals, I would be physically dead today. Likewise, if I had not gone to church for nourishment, I would be spiritually dead today!"

When you are DOWN to nothing... God is UP to something!

Columbus churches invite community in 'facing racism in a diverse world'

The Episcopal churches of St. Thomas and St. Mary Magdalene in Columbus are co-sponsoring a six-week series of conversations on racism, and a local newspaper editorial called the series "one of those occasions for bringing forth what Lincoln called ‘the better angels of our nature.'"

Titled "Facing Racism in a Diverse World," the series opened Sept. 19. Most of the 37 people in attendance were members of the wider community, including a local rabbi and the editor of the Columbus Ledger-Enquirer. The group was diverse in background, race and religious affiliation, reported the Rev. Doug Hahn, rector of St. Thomas.

Community Day set for new church forming in Atlanta area

St. Benedict's Episcopal Church of New Vinings, Ga., will host a Community Day at 7 p.m. Oct. 2 at the Atlanta Renaissance Waverly Hotel at the Galleria in Cobb County. It's an important milestone in the new church's development that will introduce St. Benedict's to the Cobb County community at large.

The event will highlight St. Benedict's rapid progress over the past year and showcase the church's inaugural community partnerships and member programs. It will unveil plans for congregational development and the launch of worship services. Speakers include Bishop J. Neil Alexander of the Episcopal Diocese of Atlanta, who founded St. Benedict's as a vanguard of efforts to reach further and deeper into the communities served by the diocese.

A delegation of 12 Kids4Peace, advisers and parents from Atlanta and Jerusalem were in New York City Sept. 9-12 for the opening of the Desmond Tutu Center for Education at General Theological Seminary, which will become a gathering place emphasizing peace and reconciliation, lifelong learning and interfaith understanding.

The 12 Kids4Peace were the only children among a bevy of world-recognized peacemakers. Keynote speakers included former South African Archbishop Desmond Tutu and Episcopal Church Presiding Bishop Katherine Jefferts Schori.

Hurricane recovery projects provide a welcome break from bishops' meeting

Many bishops of the Episcopal Church and their spouses spent this morning working on various hurricane recovery projects, and Atlanta's Neil Alexander found it "a welcome break from the meetings to make a difference in the lives of New Orleans families."

Bishop Alexander wielded a large power drill, placing a series of holes in wood studs for running wires between the boxes that will hold electric receptacles. The house is a project of the Jericho Road Episcopal Housing Initiative several blocks from Christ Church Cathedral.

Classes in the basics of Christian theology and Anglican thought for those who want to know more about our tradition or explore the possibility of confirmation or reception into the church. "Wee church" during the 11:00 service incorporates the methods of Godly Play. The children will be downstairs during the entire liturgy of the Word, absorbing the readings through the Montessori method and emphasizing the wonder of God’s presence at the heart of each lesson.

This is an annual event required by canons but a good time to learn more about the structure and workings of the larger church. This year the Diocese of Atlanta will be celebrating its 100th anniversary.

American Stained Glass of the 19th and 20th Centuries

St. Paul's has been asked to participate in this event sponsored by the Hay House on Friday October 12 from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. There will be a seminar followed by lunch. Speakers are Robert O. Jones of the Florida Bureau of Historic Preservation and Jeff Loose, of Studio Glass Company in Atlanta. The event will begin at the Hay House at 9:30 a.m.

At 2 p.m. there will be tours of various sites in Macon which have spectacular stained glass. St. Paul's will be on the tour that afternoon. Our stained glass is unique and a treasure and our own Cynthia Patterson will be speaking and answering questions.

Advance registration is required. Call the Hay House at 742-8155 by October 1. Admission is $45.00 per person for general admission or $38.00 for members of the Hay House patrons and members of the Georgia Trust.

October's Popcorn Theology offering will be Ridley Scott's 2005 film about the Crusades "Kingdom of Heaven." The film will be tentatively scheduled for October 14.

Other films scheduled are "A Man for All Seasons" and "Gods and Generals." Join us for these offerings from the Christian Education Committee. As always, the committee welcomes suggestions from the congregation for films in the series as well as volunteers to facilitate the discussions.

We hear claims from all parties about the most mistaken resolutions passed in recent Episcopal General Conventions. Was it the 2003 resolution consenting to the election of the Bishop of New Hampshire? Or was it the 2006 resolution calling for "restraint" in the consecration of "any candidate whose manner of life presents a challenge to the wider church"?

My choice for most mistaken resolution might be the one of the year 1979 which removed "Protestant" from our formal name. It was mistaken on at least two levels. First, the removal denied a deep and critical piece of our historic identity. One might argue that the Anglican Church was probably "Protestant" even before the Reformation; here in the United States, we were at one point one of the proudest of Protestant churches.

She was to have helped celebrate the conclusion of the Diocese of Atlanta's centennial year, presiding at a Centennial Eucharist to launch the diocese's 101^st Annual Council and providing the first opportunity for most Georgia Episcopalians to meet her.

The one-on-one tutoring program, in which volunteers develop valued relationships with the children and their families, serves 10 children in grades 1 through 5 and meets Monday through Thursday from 2:30-5:30 p.m.

The consecration by Kenya's Anglican Church of two US bishops raises the temperature of the rancorous dispute dividing the two wings of the 70 million-strong Church:

The bishops will be under Kenyan jurisdiction but serve in the US

liberal Anglicans, who are happy to accept gay and lesbian people as bishops, and traditionalists, who are deeply opposed.

But what Kenya's Archbishop Benjamin Nzimbi has done is not simply about homosexuality.

It goes to the heart of the way the Anglican Church sees itself.

Anglicans, like Catholic and Orthodox Christians, cherish the unity of their Church above almost everything else.

And the focus of unity is the bishop.

US Anglicans join Kenyan Church

The two men are the latest in a string of defections

Kenya's Anglican Church has consecrated two US bishops in a move likely to deepen a bitter row over homosexuality.

Bill Murdoch, of Massachusetts, and Bill Atwood, of Texas, will be answerable to the Kenyan Church, although they will serve in the US.

They left the US branch of the Anglican Church - the Episcopal Church - after it consecrated an openly gay bishop.

There are growing tensions within the Anglican denomination around the world, mainly over the issue of homosexuality.

Bishop names new chaplain for Emory University

The Rev. Benjamin J. Anthony of Atlanta has been named Episcopal chaplain to Emory University by the Rt. Rev. J. Neil Alexander, bishop of Atlanta.

In his new role, Anthony will coordinate the Episcopal Campus Ministry at Emory and serve as a pastor to the university's students and faculty on behalf of the Diocese of Atlanta. He succeeds the Rev. Nancy Baxter, who is retiring after serving in that position for 25 years.

Cathedral choirs seeking volunteers

The Cathedral of St. Philip is looking for new volunteers to sing in their adult and children's choirs. The choirs sing for services every Sunday at the Cathedral and perform several times each year in concerts and frequent Lessons and Carols settings on Sunday afternoons. The Girls' Choir rehearses regularly on Tuesday evenings, the Boys' Choir on Wednesday afternoons, and the adult choirs on Thursday evenings. The season begins following Labor Day.

Obituary: Mrs. Janie Garner

Janie Mae Glass Garner died peacefully at home in her sleep on August 23, 2007, following a lengthy illness with emphysema and congestive heart failure. She was the last surviving child of Jesse L. and Tommie H. Glass. She was born in Abilene, TX, on August 12, 1925, while her father was working for the railroad in Texas. However, she was raised in the West End and East Atlanta areas of Atlanta. She is survived by her loving husband Edwin F. (Ed) Garner. Her death came on their 59th wedding anniversary. She is also survived by her loving son Bruce Garner, their only child. Coming from a very large extended family, other survivors include her brother-in-law, James M. Caudell, and Tom Sheehan, Jr., who she referred to as her "other son." And she is survived by numerous nieces and nephews: Erin and Marty Pepus, Edie and Jeff Keith, Mark T. Griffin, Jr., Fred A. and Penny Barton, Jr., Robert Q. Adams, Jr., Susan and J.W. Bonner, Edwin Caudell and Michael Caudell. She is also survived by her newest great nephew, Konnor Lee Keith, born August 10, 2007.

Rector to fill founding headmaster's role to launch new school

After the sudden death of its founding headmaster a month before Redeemer Episcopal Academy's opening, the new school has a new leader in the Rev. D. Geoffrey Taylor, rector of the Episcopal Church of the Redeemer in Greensboro.

Taylor, along with Julie Copelan, acting dean of academics, and Amanda Garmon, acting dean director of preschool, will lead the school into its first year. Classes start Sept. 4.

Dr. John Cooper, a noted educator and church member, was scheduled to open the school Sept. 4 after many months of preparation. He died July 26.

Education for Ministry
(EFM)
Every baptized person is called to ministry. The Education for Ministry
(EFM) program provides people from all walks of life with the education
"to be" Christians and to carry out their ministry. All Christians need a
Christian education which supports their faith and which prepares them to
express that faith in day-to-day events.
EFM is a world wide program developed by the School of Theology of the
University of the South. It holds before us that the foundation for bringing
Christ to the world lies in a Church empowered by an active theologically
articulate laity.

St. Andrew's is excited to announce new staff responsilities as we continue to grow!

Susan Grayson, director of our St. Andrew’s Preschool has expanded her role
and will become the Director of Children’s Education for St. Andrew's Church as well. In this role she will
coordinate Children’s Chapel as well as oversee youth Christian Education.
She is a natural for the position and we are excited to announce her addition
to our staff. Her position is being funded by the ECW and through a private donation.

Lyla Parry will assume the role of Parish Administrator, “officially.” Lyla
has done a great job as the “Parish Secretary” over the past six months and
has been invaluable. In her duties, Lyla will take over the financial oversight
of the parish. This is a much needed addition and will allow us to keep our
“books” in house. Lyla will continue to produce the weekly bulletin and perform “other duties
as assigned by the interim rector.”

Charles Higgs

Since January 2007, we have been privileged to have Charles Higgs as our organist. Charles is a graduate student in organ at Mercer University and has added much to our Sunday morning service.

Charles has been discovered and has been offered a position in Atlanta at St. Luke's Episcopal Church. This is a fine career move for him. He will commute to Atlanta twice a week until he graduates next spring. My guess is that he will go far in his career. He is talented and personable and we will miss him. I am proud that St. Paul's is on his resume!

I am interviewing other studetns and professionals in Macon and hope to announce someone to fill this position soon. Our emphasis on music and the arts continues to grow and flourish as we carve out our niche among Macon churches. We are becoming known as the arts friendly and music loving church.
