Bishop Alexander to Launch St. B's Christian Ed

ATLANTA, Ga., September 3, 2008 Bishop J. Neil Alexander of the Episcopal Diocese of Atlanta will be the teacher and preacher on September 14 at St. Benedicts Episcopal Church of Vinings & Smyrna. His appearance will mark the start of St. Benedicts fall Christian formation programs, encompassing a weekly Foundations of Faith class for adults and Faith in Life class for youth along with a regular Vicars Forum on Gospel-driven topics.

In conjunction with the new diocesan Task Force on Environmental Stewardship, Georgia Interfaith Power & Light (GIPL) seeks to address air pollution and climate change by helping faith communities reduce their energy consumption. GIPL's signature program is a walk-through energy audit in church buildings, synagogues and mosques.
