Event Details:
"God on Trial: The Earthquake in Haiti and the Indictment of God," a Lenten lecture series by Dr. Joseph Monti, will be presented March 11 and 12 at two Atlanta Episcopal churches -- St. Bede's and St. Dunstan's. The first lecture, "The Indictments," will be at 7 p.m. Friday, March 12, at St. Bede's, 2601 Henderson Mill Road, Atlanta, 30345. The second lecture, "Children of a Lesser God," is at 9 a.m. Saturday, March 13, at St. Dunstan's, 4393 Garmon Road, Atlanta, 30327, and will be followed by "Acts of Hope: The Hands and Feet of God in Haiti" by the Rev. Bill Deneke. Monti is professor emeritus of Christian ethics and moral theology at the School of Theology, Sewanee. Deneke, who has done frequent mission work in Haiti, is rector of Holy Trinity Episcopal Parish in Decatur. Dinner ($7) is served at 6 p.m. Friday; reservations required by calling St. Bede’s, 770-938-9797. A continental breakfast will be served at 8:30 a.m. Saturday.
