2010 Fall Presbyters' Conference - Dr. Luke Timothy Johnson

Monday-Wednesday, September 27-29 / Mikell Camp & Conference Center, Toccoa


 Dr. Luke Timothy Johnson is the Robert W. Woodruff Professor of New Testament and Christian Origins at Candler School of Theology at Emory University.

Dr. Johnson's research interests encompass the Jewish and Greco-Roman contexts of early Christianity (particularly moral discourse), Luke-Acts, the Pastoral Letters, and the Letter of James. His current research concerns the literary, moral, and religious dimensions of the New Testament.

Dr. Johnson will speak at the Monday afternoon and evening sessions, will preach at the Tuesday Eucharist, and speak at the Tuesday evening session.

Conference details:

  • Conference Center in Toccoa -- begins with lunch Monday, September 27, and continues through lunch on Wednesday, September 29. In addition to the conference speaker, the Presbyters' Conference will include time for major presentations on Title IV and the Denominational Health Plan, other diocesan business, worship, and fellowship. 
  •  Registration deadline is Wednesday, Sept. 15. Please help us remain good stewards of time and materials by registering online. Costs are $120 for lodging and meals at Mikell or $65 for meals only.
  • Rooms are available at Mikell, as well as at  special diocesan rates at  Country Hearth Inn and  Toccoa Inn. To obtain the lodging you prefer, it's advisable to register early. Single rooms are not available at Mikell.
