Congregational Development

The Office of Congregational Growth and Development provides support for new and established parishes in the Diocese of Atlanta. It nurtures the growth of congregations and their leaders and assists congregations with embracing change, evangelism, growth and redevelopment.

(At right) New clergy take part in the monthly Fresh Start program.

Knowing your Congregation and Your Neighborhood

The Diocese of Atlanta is in partnership with The Percept Group to offer online information about each parish’s community, hands-on tools to better understand and develop the potential of each parish, and additional resources and data to help focus planning and evangelism efforts.
Every parish in the diocese can access these online tools here. We also have consultants available to assist in the interpretation of the information "Link2Lead" provides; contact Canon Alicia Schuster Weltner for more information.

Church Leadership

The Diocese of Atlanta is a member of The Alban Institute, which offers publications and training for church leadership, as well as a free online newsletter.
We also manage the Fresh Start program for ordained leaders who are new to parish ministry or new to the Diocese of Atlanta. And we offer the Church Development Institute, a training program for developing congregational leaders to help parishes maximize their potential in spreading the Gospel.

Consulting

We have a team of consultants with expertise in all areas of church life and development.  Please contact us to inquire about scheduling a consultant.
